At home
I had a sweet dream about candies and chocolate. Thus, I woke up to an urge to dress in candy. I rummage through my closet, which was getting more and more unkempt, and managed to pull out a pink dress, that I had bought from Katherine's shop ages ago. I had almost forgotten about it. I don't normally wear pink but I decided to make an exception this time, especially when I am in a good mood today. It is slightly covered in dust though. I had to flap it to make it tidy and clear.
Me today:
As I had wasted too much time in finding the clothes, I was nearly late for school and had to fly instead of taking the bus. When I finally reached the Academy, most of the students had gone to their classrooms. I didn't see any of my friends.
In my classroom, Aila greeted me and I said hi back. She signaled that she will talk to me after the lessons as the bell had rang.
There is a two hour break after the Economics lesson and History lesson. Aila, sitting beside me, finished tidying her things up and turned to me.
Aila: I am meeting Sheila, May and Francesca at the school cafeteria. Do you want to join us?
Me: Okay.
Sheila, May and Francesca were classmates and good friends with one another. Sheila was Aila's childhood friend. Sheila knows May well but she is not close to Francesca, whereas I know Francesca well but not with May. We stood up and walked downstairs, chatting along the way.
Aila: It is the dancing activity tomorrow.....I so dreaded it
Me: Me too. What if I step on my partners, whoever he is, feet? I will be totally mortified.
Aila: Worse, I heard that we need to wear a very formal long dress or a gown for it.
Me (surprised): A gown? That's idiotic. We aren't even in the actual event itself. Gown will make me trip even more with its long skirt.
Aila: I don't even have a gown. For god's sake, I don't even have a dress, let alone formal ones! Where can I go and find one at such a short notice?
Me (uncertain): I am sure they aren't that strict. You can just find any long dress for the time being.
Aila: I don't know where to find one.
I was about to reply when Sheila spoke up. We had reached the cafeteria, near Sheila, May and Francesca's seats. They had heard us.
Sheila (curious): Find what?
Aila sank onto the sofa, next to Sheila, with a sigh. I sat next to Francesca.
Aila (grumbly): A dress.
Sheila (shocked): You? In a dress? I am your childhood friend and I have never seen you in a dress.
Then, she grinned impishly.
Sheila (grinning): Tell me, did you have a boyfriend and want to look pretty?
Aila (glaring at her): NO! It's for that dance!
Francesca: I have heard that it needs a long dress or a gown indeed.
Sheila: Darn. Here I was hoping to get away with weaing a shirt and a mini skirt to show off my long legs.
Aila: Yeah, yeah, stop boasting about your good look.
Sheila (slightly annoyed and smug): I was just stating a fact.
Me: I was about to tell Aila where to find a good dress.
Francesca: I'd bet I know where. Katherine's shop, right?
May, who was a non-talkative person, spoke up suddenly.
May: It does have some nice clothes, provided you have enough money and luck.
Sheila: You sound bitter, May. Bad experiences?
Aila: What is that place, anyway?
May: Whenever I go there, it was either themes that I disliked very much or all the things I wanted are branded ("jewel") and I cannot afford them at all.
Meanwhile, at the same time, Francesca turned to Aila.
Francesca: Katherine's shop is a shop that sells expensive branded goods and some cheaper ("ribbon") items.
Aila (turning from Francesca to May): Wow, the items must be very expensive, guessing from your tone.
Me: They are expensive indeed. But I doubt that you will find anything much that you like there, Aila. They have little sport wear. But it might be good to find a dress there first. Maybe there is a cheap long dress for sale.
Sheila (sounding a bit interested): Do you think there is anything for me?
I shrugged.
Aila sighed and said in resignation: I will go there to find a darned dress then.
Sheila: I will go with you!
Francesca: I will go along too. I need to go to the celebrity shop as well to check for new updates.
Me: I guess I will go along then. There might be new items.
May (quietly): I have tuition after school so please excuse me.
Aila: Such trouble for a stupid dance....
Francesca: Hmm...seems like everyone is disturbed by this dancing activity.....
Aila: I don't mind it if it is just a simple party and I can wear anything I want. But this!
Me: I dislike dancing. But if there is food, I will be there.
Francesca (looking excited): I know what to perk everyone up. Why don't I organise a party in my ballroom and invite everyone? Then, everyone can have fun and take their stress about the dance away. And I will supply the food too.
Sheila (excited): Great idea! I can finally wear my new mini skirt and show off my great dance!
Aila (eyes gleaming with delight): Cool! Exactly what I wanted!
Me: Good idea. As long as it is not too much of a trouble for you, Francesca.
Francesca: No, it's ok. It is a small matter.
May (speaking up): What do we need to bring?
Francesca (smiling): Just bring yourself.
Sheila: Hey, I have an idea! Let's make it a cosplay party! I want to be a sexy devil.
Aila: You read my mind! (Aila high-fived Sheila) I was thinking of going there as a rock star.
Sheila: No surprise there. What about you, Aella?
Me (excited): I can be a detective.
Aila: Whoosh. You like being a detective?
Me: It has always been my dream wish. But I am not observant nor deductive enough.
Sheila: No way. You are so clever.
Francesca: Are you going as Sherlock Holmes?
Me: I guess so, except I have no deerstalker hat or pipe.
Aila: We aren't that strict. Just wear a normal hat or go without a hat and pipe.
Francesca: I can lend you my father's old pipe.
Me (to Francesca): Thanks!
Francesca: Alright, that is decided then, I shall make it as a cosplay party.
Sheila turned to May.
Sheila: What will you be wearing?
May (thinking for a while before saying quietly): .....I guess I will..... wear as a...... witch.
Aila: Awesome idea. You will look good as a witch.
Sheila (grinning and suggesting): Bring along a spell book and a broom, wear a witch hat and you will look exactly the part of a cute witch.
May blushed and said thank you.
After chatting for so long, we were thirsty and hungry. We went to find food and drinks.
Later, after school, we went to Katherine's shop. I am the only one who went there for the second time in a week. I am thus not really enthusiastic about it. But it was cool to see Sheila's happiness at the lolita items and Aila's slight joy at finding punk clothes ("ribbon"), even if they were not very rocky. Aila also admired the guitars on display, but cannot buy them as they are too expensive ("jewel").
We then tried to find a suitable long dress for Aila, which wasn't easy, I have to say. She is not used to wearing a dress and had an awkward expression. Her hairstyle looked a bit unsuitable for a long dress or gown too. Finally we agreed on a dress. One and a half hour flew by in the shop.
Aila's dress and her:
We originally suggested the pink one but she refused to look pink (after saying no offense to me), and chose the black one. We shrugged and let her choose that.
Sheila bought a lot of items, mainly from the cheaper section. Aila bought the long black dress, a "studs bag" and other punk-style clothes.
Like Lacy and Brenda, they got five coupons too and exchanged them for a free gift at the shell-looked machine. They got a blue "dot eco-bag".
We met Francesca at the cafe. Sheila ordered a sundae, Aila had a coffee drink as she was going for a badminton practice later on, Francesca had red tea and I had coke. After chatting for twenty minutes or so, Sheila suddenly suggested something.
Sheila (cheerfully): Why don't we go to the amusement park? It is just one bus-stop away.
Aila: But I am in a rush.....
Sheila: Your badminton practice started one hour after. Don't bluff me with that excuse. I knew that you are just bored with the amusement park.
Aila: Of course I am bored! I have been going with you to that place since we were thirteen years old!
Sheila (defensively): I love amusement park.
Aila was about to say something when I interrupted their argument.
Me: Actually...I like amusement park too. It's been ages since I went there.
Sheila (smug): See? It is a good idea to go to the amusement park.
Francesca: I had my own amusement park back at home but I am the only one there. This could be fun. There will be many people around for this public amusement park.
Aila (resigned and outvoted): Fine. We will go to the amusement park.
After about thirty minutes, we reached the amusement park. It was quite huge with many attractive games.
There are many fun places. There is a stall that makes you shoot balloons from some distances away. There is a stall that has moving plastic ducklings and you have to hit as many of them with a tiny arrow. There is a ferris wheel that has many lights.
The most special place is the lottery boxes and claw cranes (vending machines game). There are two sections of lottery boxes and claw cranes. One section of the claw cranes contain rare and expensive items. Only the special cards drawn from the expensive section of the lottery boxes can be used to play these. Each play of the lottery wheel is very expensive here. If any of the cards you drew out has a letter with a special star mark on it, you can play the claw crane. One star card for one play. You will get the prize when you catch it in the claw crane. You can also draw out ten cards all of different letters to get a very special rare bonus prize.
It is similar for the other section, which is more cheaper. The claw cranes in the section here contains "normal" or plain or tiny items like keychains. Similarly, the special star and letter card can let you play. Each card for each play. But the letter is all the same for the cards in this section. There is no special rare bonus prize.
An interesting game indeed ("poupee catcher game").
Francesca went to play in the expensive section while Sheila, Aila and I played the cheaper one. Francesca got a huge white teddy bear, Aila got a ribbon, Sheila got a tiny doremon (which look a bit different from actual one) phone strap and I got a flower keychain.
After that, Aila had to bid us goodbye before she went for her badminton practice. Francesca, Sheila and I went to other places for more fun. We went to the House of Mirror, very short boat ride, and the roller coaster. We ate lots of food along the way too, like candy floss. (Wow...like in my candy dream! > <)
It was an exhausting day after we finally quit and went home. Yet, we are really happy as well. At least for me. I had so much fun.
That's all for today. I am pretty tired and still needs to tackle my assignments. I hope I don't fall asleep in the middle of doing my homework......See ya.......zzzzz...*bang my head to stay awake*
